Raining...

It is raining today.  I forgot what a whole day of rain sounded like.  It is very soothing and tiring all at the same time *yawns*  I am in a store here in Navarre Florida and have sold a few pieces.  That makes me feel good.  My etsy store isn't selling anything and I am not sure why?

I know this is a bad picture....
I took a bunch of pictures outside.  grumbles....

whewwwwww.....

I am finally kind of actually settling into the folks place!  I have discovered to my amazement that I miss my stuff.  Or to be more specific, my books, clothes and studio stuff.  Mom and I have made a great deal of jewelry using her left over beads with some new ones.

The poor left over beads are now beautiful pieces of jewelry LOL.
I have discovered now that I have my cataracks out, it is extremely difficult for me to see close up even with my reading glasses.  Which means some stray wire may show up occasionally but it does get taken care of.

I have a 15% sale going on in my etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/FunkyMonkeys  just type in CyperMonday :)

Busy creating....

I have finally settled down and creating like crazy here in Florida.  It is awesome being with my Stephie and staying with my follks.  I am taking an jewelry program with one of the local colleges here.  I will be learning how to saw, solder, casting etc.  I can't wait!!!  I have been wanting to do this type of stuff forever!

Now, I have to be patient until Jan when the classes start.  I left my day job.  I have 24 years in it so when I hit 55, then I can collect retirement.  I couldn't deal with it anymore.  So I quit.  I am not really nervous about it because I know God has my back.

We, mom & I, got into a store here and will be doing a show in Destin Florida.  The creative fairy and I have been quite close lately LOL:P

I am enjoying working with leather and pearls.  It has  rustic edge to it and yet the elegance of the pearls take it to a whole new level.

shows...

We aka Funky Monkey Girls, have a couple of shows coming up in Florida.  I will be posting more information when I get the information from them.

I am taking some classes here and there.  Last Monday, I learned how to saw metal and file it.  I can NOT make a circle for the life of me, they all look like eggs.  I always say that jeweler's are part birds!  :)  They are automatically attracted to shiny things aka birds.  Lame, I know.

My back has been pretty bad these last couple of days.  Bent over and bam that was it.  sigh....

I am staying with my folks in Florida...long story and it is actually a good thing :)

Leather here and there and everywhere

It is interesting how you can create with a small bit of beads that you have handy cause you are a tad poor right now.  Mom and I are getting addicted to all those leather bracelets that are out there.  I have been noticing them for a year or so and I kind of kick myself for not making them sooner but oh well.

Tired eyes today so off I go to play with Stephie who is begging for attention, goofy girl!

Well, I know it has been ages and ages since I have last updated!  I got rid of my house, packed up my house in Tucson and worked at a Christian camp in northern MN.  During this time, Stephie has been hanging out in Florida being taken care of by her grandpa and grandma.

I am back in Florida living with my folks.  oh yea.  Not my idea of fun but a HUGE blessing because my working at that camp was my ministry for the summer and a lack of much mola coming my way.

I am hoping and praying that the Lord is guiding me back home to Minnesota.  I miss my friends a lot and need to show them the new me so to speak.

If anyone is still reading this, I do need some help.  I am wanting to learn how to do lost wax techniques etc to go a different direction with my jewelery.  I can not find an accredicted school in MN to get a degree in it but I am wondering, if I should get an art degree to get some of the basics, drawing etc re learned so I can get financial aid and take other clasees at this time as well.
