naughty me.....

I have been as good about posting on here as I was in the past. Day job is kicking my butt and I am in a program that will help me to move up in my day job. That is full of projects and I am tired.........I go into work at least one hr early every other day and with fibro, that is KILLING ME!

TIRED............very very tired. The storms here in Tucson are always making my pain 5,000 times worse than normal as well. Last night was the first night in about 4 days that I actually got to sleep in all night. Of course, goof ball Peaches woke me up but lately she is letting me sleep in until 0515, that is a good thing for her mom.

I have created a grand total of 2 things.....wow.......:( I put one Etsy shop on vacation until I get a better idea of several things:

1. Business plan or at least an outline of what exactly I am going with this..
2. I feel that I need a style or design concept that is uniquely my own.
3. These are the things in jewelery that I like to play with:
a. polymer clay-which I can play with now
b. PMC, which I won't play with until I get a klin
c. Wire work, which I can play with now.
I wanna to do everything and know how to do everything but I am finding that I am getting really chaotic in not being able to create anything because I want to make everything. If that makes sense to you than you understand. I must focus like I do at my day job.

Because of the day job is literally sucking my life away, I am seriously thinking on what I can do to encourage my creativity but take it easy on the etsy site until I can figure some stuff out.

I made some mixed media dominos yesterday:) hee,hee.....my ICE resin is here and I will be playing with that later:) I made a steampunk thing so we shall see how it turned out:)

London calling

That will be the name of the new necklace that I created last night. I am also venturing very very slowly into make things on the dominos that I have...with pictures etc. I am waiting impatiently for my ICE resin so I can get some steam punk things done as well. I am nervous about it but excited all at the same time because I am getting myself out of the "rut" that I am in creative wise. Now, working on taking better pictures...my batteries died last night so they are recharging away today so hopefully get going on that because I have TONS of jewelery that I need to get out there.....

I am also going thru old stashes and taking them apart, a really great thing about making jewelery, at least you can recycle a great deal of it:)

Evil noise

is finally gone...............PRAISE GOD! Now, last night, I have the most awesome idea for a necklace, got my butt out of bed, dug for something to draw it on and it will be coming to life in stages here:) It is going to involve more crafty stuff from me and Ms Margot Potter just inspired me last night............hee,hee....just wait!!

Style.........

My question to you, is do we i.e. Funky Monkey Girls, have a style that is easily picked out in a group of jewelery?

I just read something in Lorelei's posted dated 5/13/09 about copyright and your sense of style in your jewelery. I was wondering, can others pick out my jewelery out of others or am I just "copying" bits of different designers that I am seeing instead of doing my style or the Funky Monkey Girls style.

I want our jewelery to be different, unique and that you can look at the piece and go oh, I know who designed that piece of jewelery. I have quite honestly really never sat down and talked about this or gave it a great deal of thought. My own style...mine, not a piece that I like from over there to add to this piece of over here...my own style.

This is definately something that I need to think about and come up with. I need to brainstorm this with mom so we aren't "copying" pieces from people but doing our own.

This will include Frida's pictures and her images as well, I need to twist it into my style. Do you know what your style is or are you unconsiously doing what I am doing, picking up ideas from everyone else? Something to think about.......

eurka moment

I know where mom and I's creativity has disappeared to, it is in a lovely dish waiting for us to quit thinking about house stuff:) At least, that is where I am hoping it is at because if it left the building, it will be rather hard to find.

I found out that there was shooting at my apartment complex! Okay, very freaking out at this moment! There are a lot of older folks and many who aren't very molble living there and I worry about them. We had a security guard at night but no weapon? He isn't going to be too effective! Oh Lord, give everyone protection at my apartment complex and keep them from harm.

I am quite grumpy at day job land. Flu stuff, provider stuff, changing/setting up clinic stuff....ARGH!!!! Happy it is Friday!

Our weekend plans are going to Ikea in Phoenix to check out furniture. Art stuff in our lives, we have TONS of "worry dolls" and thinking of ways to display them in jewelery etc.....ideas are starting to flow togther. Box of goodies sent to Margaret's store. I need to get more things together for the museum as well than that package will be sent out.

Monday

whew, it was a busy driving weekend! We drove to Tubac to pick up some more tiles and knobs and hopefully some clay birds. We got the knobs and the birds but didn't find any small mexican tiles that I wanted. So drive back to Tucson to 4th street and behold, the small tiles. We have a project to do:)

Then on Sunday, off to Apache Junction to see my great auntie. The radiation is kicking her butt! She was really tired! I haven't seen them in a very long time so that was nice. Mom really enjoyed her visit with her aunt. Inez and mom aren't that far apart in age. I guess when mom & dad went to Minnesota when I was a little kid, I stayed with Inez and Floyd. I had "coffee" and played mousetrap with my great grandpa and grandma. I remember that pretty vividly:) What is so funny, is that I would tell a story about my dad going out dancing with some lady with sparkly red shoes. I guess Inez and great grandma would get such a kick out of that. That is one thing that hasn't changed, my imagination.

Speaking of imagination, mom & I are so full of ideas and various projects that we are bursting out our seams. We have to purchase more supplies but soon we will get busy on them. Mom also just LOVED Margot Potter's book, "Beyond Beading!" She has got tons of ideas from her book as well!! Just remember something that I have to do.....let me go do it before it gets buried in this overprocessed brain of mine:)
